The wastewater treatment plant for the City of Princeton, Illinois is undergoing an upgrade and JWC Environmental has received a large order for our high-tech, high-flow Monster Separation System headworks. The plant treats over 2-MGD (88 l/s) to produce reclaimed water and biosolids suitable for land application.
The headworks will include dual stage screening to ensure the highest level of capture rate, flow and reliability. Equipment includes:
- Chain & Rake Monster – bar screen for pre-screening
- Finescreen Monster – a high flow perforated plate system for fine screening down to 1/4″ (6mm)
- Screenings Washer Monster – a washer compactor which produces ultra clean discharge
- Drumscreen Monster – for sludge screening
The plant’s unique design includes a vertical loop reactor and a high-tech sludge treatment system to reduce the amount of biosolids produced. The design engineer for the project is Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, with offices throughout the midwest.
Managing the order is Dean Wiebenga of Peterson & Matz – JWC’s long-time rep in Illinois.
