Bandscreen Monster
In today’s modern wastewater treatment plants, meeting high standards in effluent quality, cost efficiency and odor control is a must. To meet these higher standards, JWCE introduces the Bandscreen Monster®, a member of the Monster Separation System® line of high performance screens.
This high-flow system offers incredibly high capture rates and is able to remove a wider variety of solids, particularly small solids and trash, better than traditional screens. It is frequently specified to protect high-tech Membrane Bioreactors (MBR) so they can run more efficiently and with less maintenance.
The rotating panels are positioned parallel to the flow and as wastewater enters the screen it flows left or right through the perforated screening panels. This helps eliminate bypass since only the inner loop of the screen touches screenings. Panels available with 5/64″, 1/8″ or 1/4″ (2, 3 or 6mm) openings. The heavy-duty stainless steel roller chain passes around a UHMW guide track to eliminate the need for sprockets or bearings in the flow.
Unwanted solids are captured and lifted to the discharge level where a spray system washes solids into the Screenings Washer Monster® for washing, dewatering and compacting.
During screen operation JWCE’s optional Monster Blind Diagnostic System™ monitors, calculates and displays the percent of screen “blinding”. There are three significant benefits of this patent-pending control system. First, MBDS allows the screen or screens to automatically operate at optimal efficiency. Second, it continuously updates the control room on the screen’s precise performance so upsets (for example heavy grease loading) can be detected and dealt with early on before the problem can grow. And finally, MBDS can inform operations when the cleaning brush or spray nozzles need adjustment. Monster Blind Diagnostic System is always watching the screens so you have less to worry about.

Features and Benefits
Unique Flow Pattern
- Screen configuration eliminates screenings carry-over
Advanced Design
- Perforated openings capture twice the trash as bar screens
- Neoprene seals between the perforated plates and side seals ensure material does not bypass the screen
- Perforated UHMW inserts (replaceable) with stainless steel frame
Enhanced Cleaning System
- High power water spray bar ensures that the screen’s plastic panels remain free flowing and clean and minimizes hairpinning.
Heavy-Duty Stainless Steel Roller Chains
- Stainless steel construction ensures long life
- Roller chains track smoothly in UHMW guides
Monster Blind Diagnostic System (optional)
- Detects and alerts operators of potential screen “blinding” situations
Cleaner Screenings with Screenings Washer Monster
- Grinds, washes and dewaters screen discharge
- Dewaters screenings up to 50%
- Reduces volume of screenings up to 95%
- Lower disposal costs and improved landill acceptability
